CPC SYSTEM
WorksRight Software, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of our new CPC system for identifying and maintaining postal codes for the Canadian mail system. Canadian postal codes are the equivalent of the US Postal Service ZIP Codes. There are over 875,000 Canadian postal codes.
The CPC system includes Canadian street address information. Postal coding of Canadian addresses can be performed via batch processing and/or a callable program (API) interface. Address database lookup and browse functions are also included.
The CPC system consists of software and data to provide all Canadian postal codes, matching city names, province names, province codes, area codes, and latitude/longitude information.
A nearest dealer locator feature is part of the CPC system. Commonly large companies have dealers representing them in various parts of the country. When a potential customer inquires, there is a need to identify the dealer nearest that customer’s location.
CPC’s nearest dealer locator function allows you to locate the dealers nearest your customer based on the latitude/longitude of the dealer’s Canadian postal code and the customer’s Canadian postal code. This feature allows you to locate the ten dealers sequenced by distance. The nearest dealer locator function is available as a menu option or as a callable program.
A distance calculation program is included in CPC that calculates the air-line distance between two postal codes. The distance is calculated based on the average latitude/longitude of the post office serving the specified postal code. The distance is provided in miles and in kilometers.
Selection options are offered so that you can select postal codes based on distance, city, province, or area codes. The selected postal codes are placed in a selection file. Once selected, the postal codes can be used as “finder” records for any other user-written application program.

All of the features of CPC are available by using menu options or by using callable programs. Callable programs are provided to access all of the data provided with the CPC system. There is no need for you to write programs to access the data. No programming is required unless you wish to use the callable programs. Sample source code is provided to aid you in implementing the CPC callable programs.
